BANKRUPTCY FEES
Fees / Costs
To file bankruptcy in the state of Colorado, you must pay a filing fee:
$335.00 for Chapter 7
$310.00 for Chapter 13
These fees are required at the time of filing of your bankruptcy petition.
After a free consultation to determine the nature and extent of your financial situation, a fee will be quoted to you for the attorney fees.
Chapter 7
For a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, the entire fee plus the filing fee is required to be paid prior to filing your bankruptcy petition. The reason for this is to provide you with a fresh start without owing any debts to creditors, including your attorney.
Chapter 13
For a Chapter 13 Wage Earner Plan, generally, a portion of the attorney fee needs to be paid prior to filing, with the balance paid according to the Plan.
